#RootsTech 2016 in the News -- A Survey

With RootsTech 2016 right around the corner, my wife and I are involved in strategy discussions about transportation, parking and scheduling. Meanwhile, I finally saw an article come out in the local non-genealogy news media about the conference.

“RootsTech Announces Speakers, Entertainers for 2016 Conference | KSL.com.” Accessed January 12, 2016. https://www.ksl.com/?sid=38099063&nid=148&title=rootstech-announces-speakers-entertainers-for-2016-conference&s_cid=queue-7.

I thought it would be a good idea to see what else is being said about the upcoming Conference. FamilySearch has accumulated quite a long list of bloggers and others to be "RootsTech Ambassadors" so lets see how much ambassadoring they are doing. You can also check out the #rootstech hashtag on Twitter. See https://twitter.com/hashtag/rootstech I am also seeing some action on Instagram.com. I went back a month or so for online posts and articles. There are quite a lot of mentions on Facebook.com, but depending on your personal settings you may not see anything other than your own friends etc.

Of course, FamilySearch and its sponsoring organization, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have a number of blog posts and press releases. Here are some of those articles.

I suppose I could have gone on, but I started to get more than a month back. I see a lot of really familiar names on this list, but not too many from the long list of Ambassadors. Perhaps they should start posting more and regularly about the Conference. Just a thought.
